Tropical Mango Dream Bowls

Aah what oh what can I tell you about these tropical mango dream bowls! They are the ultimate tropical dream smoothie bowls.

I whole-heartedly love mangoes, not only because they're so delicious but every time I see them, I remember my mum's love for mangoes. She calls them heaven. I automatically remember her voice in my head calling them "heaven" hehe.

Despite being so lush, delicious, sweet and very passion like (don't know why I associate with it as a fruit full of passion); mangoes are also full of nutrition too:

  • It has a good amount of Vitamin C, A and K
  • Good for bone health
  • Good for brain health
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Good source of iron
  • Supports immune health
  • Is a decent source of fiber too

So this heat wave we had before the chilly weekend had been craaazy, making me crave all sorts of fruits and refreshing drinks. Some really sweet looking mangoes made me want to rush home and make an irresistibly smooth and creamy mango coconut smoothie bowl. I wanted to make it very tropical and very refreshing- something like an ice cream. 

And guess what? It turned out to be just that. I bet a popsickle version of it would be DA BOMB! Plus, I got a few secrets to make them just perfect!

This Tropical Mango Dreams Bowl is:

  • Smooth and ice creamy
  • Free of artificial sweeteners
  • Refreshing and cooling
  • Perfect for a snack or breakfast on a hot day (or not)
  • Dreamy, soft and filled with fruits
  • Sweet with a tiny tang
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • With citrus to absorb iron better

So, if you've bought frozen mangoes before you probably notice a difference in the taste compared to getting fresh mangoes, freezing them and using them. OR is that just me?
I've tried both and here`s what I did several times.

Tip:  Buy fresh, lush mangoes, cut them up and freeze them overnight or up to 3 days before blending. They taste so different from frozen store bought mangoes, in a good way. 

I've frozen fresh mangoes for up to 3 days and blended them, so I'm not too sure how long you can freeze them before they taste like they're lacking flavour. Let me know if you figure this out ;)

I also added some turmeric powder and a pinch of black pepper in them to activate the anti-inflammatory property of turmeric (don't worry you won't be able to taste it one bit) !

Aaaaannnd Voila! That's it really. Such simple pleasures, yet such elevated feels. These tropical smoothies are ready to be eaten, scraped off the bowl, and I promise you, it`ll you feeling deeply satisfied with life!
