Figgy Nana Breakfast Pudd

It's the first week of October!!! Oh my gosh. Bring more pumpkins and halloween decor out please. The world. can't. hold it in. 

Actually, I kinda can. I didn't really get the craze of pumpkins and the term "basic" which is synonymous with pumpkin and such. So am I crazy about it right now? 

Umm... no not really. I recently wrote an article for work about some fall specific fruits and veggies, and that re-sparked my curiosity to finally make use of fresh and in season pumpkins, squash and figs. Why not make hay while the sun shines huh? 

I went to pick up a couple groceries a few weeks ago and came across a crate full of figs. In that moment I thought to myself "Omg this is beautiful. I want this." I happily went back home like I hit the jackpot lol.

So up until the first time I tried fresh figs, I wondered what they'd taste like (duh). I've thoroughly enjoyed dried figs but little did I know that eating too many of them can cause stomach upsets, bloating, and is insanely high in sugar! Yikes!

So yeah, minus the fyi, you can imagine how excited I was to eat them.

I decided to make a breakfast pudd the next day and I'm so glad I made it. One of the best, most nutritious breakfasts I've had.

Oh and on the healthier side, figs are actually high in calcium, fiber and antioxidants. Yaaayy! 

I cooked up some oatmeal the night before, prepared my chia pudding using powdered Organic Whole Greens that I use from Ergogenics. For the milk, I used oat milk by my favourite plant based milk brand- So Fresh! In the morning, I ninja sliced up some bananas and added them to my oatmeal layer, then added some figs and it all tasted SO FIGGIN GOOOOOOOD!

 Here though, I've taken a shot with their Vanilla protein. But I put some greens in my pudding.
